The archivist reorganized the files (which had no particular original order) into a hierarchy as follows, while trying to respect the chronology of each partition: correspondent lists; correspondence signed by Aline Chrétien, followed by information files on the Ninth Conference of Spouses of Heads of State of the Americas (since they contain lists of people with whom Madame Chrétien corresponded directly); correspondence signed on behalf of Madame Chrétien by Monique Bondar and Carole Côté and, to a lesser degree, by other Correspondence Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister staffers (such as Keith Hanash or David Miller, who was tasked with replying to invitations received by Aline Chrétien); and lastly, various correspondence for which a reply was not required or did not appear in the file.
