SLINGS AND ARROWS, Season One, is a one-hour format drama that follows the workings of a major theater festival in southern Ontario. In this final episode of the first season, Jack is nowhere to be found the day of the opening. The crisis brings Geoffrey and Ellen together to retrace the events of the evening seven years ago when it all fell apart for Geoffrey. Kate tracks down Jack as he considers leaving. He hasn't yet, but he doesn't know why. He reveals to Kate his anguish about the performance, and about how Richard tried to sabatoge his performance when he told Jack he was nothing but a piece of publicity get people to purchase tickets. Geoffrey and Ellen end their redemptive trip down memory lane at the river, where Geoffrey had ended his breakdown seven years earlier when he tried to strangle a swan. This lands Geoffrey and Ellen right near Kate and Jack and it is decided the show must go on. Jack is still a bundle of nerves, and Geoffrey works with him to restore his confidence. Oliver makes another appearance to remind Geoffrey of his promise to have his skull used in the production. Richard is prevented from getting to his seat and must watch the play from the wings. He is deeply moved. The show is, of course, an artistic success. Richard reconsiders the dramatic changes Holly was trying to bring to the festival, and Geoffrey and Ellen finally disperse Oliver's ashes. <46mn 16s>
