Fifteen year-old Oliver Cates has invented VisiCron, an amazing piece of software that transports any historical figure into the present day for 36 hours, after which they return to the exact moment they left, having no conscious memory of their adventure. In this episode Crystal is struggling in art class. She is trying hard to meet the expectations of her teacher, but it is stifling her creativity. Her brother Simon tries to help her by bringing Emily Carr in to provide advice. Carr is difficult at first with Crystal as Carr is disapointed with Crystal's repitition of dry ideas she has read about art. Eventually Carr's peculiar nature gets under Crystal's skin, but her emotional reaction is just what Carr was hoping for. Crystal finds her passion, but Featherstone, the art teacher, rejects the results of her new found inspiration. After her rejection Crystal throws out her painting, but Carr once again teaches her another valuable lesson about being an artist. In the end Crystal learns how to be true to herself and her artistic vision no matter what the critics say. <23mn 17s>
