Series comprises predominantly art work created by Julius Griffith. The art records include a large number of small wood engravings with early examples having been inspired when Griffith was stationed in Murmansk, Russia for several years in the 1940s. Other early engravings focus on intimate close family and neighbourhood scenes.

Linocuts, both large and small formats, include such subjects as country scenes, Toronto landmarks, car racing at Mosport, Ontario, scenes inspired by travels to Buenos Aires, Paris, Istanbul and Jerusalem, a driving trip across Canada, and a history series with content relating to such subjects as the death of Wolfe, the British troops at Quebec, and the first Apollo landing on the moon.

A small number of drawings were executed in Griffith's early career and include sketches made in Russia, and scenes in England where he lived with his mother in the 1930s.

Watercolours are quite large in scale and focus on mostly urban scenes from downtown Toronto, Jerusalem, Saint John, N.B., St. John's, Newfoundland and sites in the interior of British Columbia.

Also included are four acrylic paintings of a Montreal city street, an hotel in downtown Ottawa, Mosport and Orangeville, Ontario. Note that in 1994, the University of Toronto Press reproduced some of his larger format linocuts.

The series also includes one original Christmas card by longtime family friend Ann McIntosh Duff and two cards relating to Griffith's colleague at the Ontario College of Art Frederick Hagan.
