Pelletier, Romain-Octave, 1843-1927 : Organiste, pianiste, compositeur, pédagogue et musicologue né à Montréal, Romain-Octave Pelletier commence à toucher l'orgue au collège de Montréal et étudie les rudiments de la musique avec son frère Orphir Pelletier. Organiste de la cathédrale Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur de 1857 à 1867, il poursuit également ses études de droits et est reçu notaire au début de la vingtaine, profession qu'il ne fera qu'effleurer. Lors d'un séjour à Hartford, il rencontre l'organiste Samuel P. Warren et devient, à son retour, organiste à l'église Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur (1867-75). En 1871, Pelletier se rend en Europe où il reçoit les leçons de plusieurs musiciens réputés tels que William Thomas Best, Antoine-François Marmontel et Nicolas-Jacques Lemmens.
En 1872, il revient au pays et se consacre à sa carrière d'organiste et d'enseignant. Après avoir inauguré plusieurs orgues Casavant au Canada et aux États-Unis, Pelletier entreprend, en 1900, un voyage en Europe avec les frères Casavant. Quelques années plus tard, il est nommé professeur de piano au McGill Conservatory. Pédagogue de talent, il enseigne aussi dans de nombreux établissements dont l'École normale Jacques-Cartier, l'Institut Nazareth et le couvent des Soeurs des Saints Noms de Jésus et de Marie. À cinq reprises, Pelletier occupe la présidence de l'Académie de musique du Québec.
Outre ses recueils de conférences (Le toucher du pianiste, L'Étude de la littérature du piano, L'art pianistique et le Guide du professeur de piano), on lui doit également quelques oeuvres dont Dix petits morceaux pour l'orgue op. 3, Six pièces d'orgue, Quatre Noëls anciens pour choeur et orgue, un Scherzo pour piano et la marche Prince Arthur pour piano ou harmonie. En 1919, Pelletier reçoit un doctorat honorifique de l'Université de Montréal.
Lemaire-Pelletier, Athaïs, 1845-1926 : Née à Saint-Benoît, Athaïs Lemaire est la fille de Félix-Hyacinthe Lemaire, président du Conseil législatif et membre du Conseil exécutif dans le cabinet Boucher de Boucherville (1874-1876), et de Luce Arthémise Barcelo. Elle épouse Romain-Octave Pelletier en 1869 et donnera naissance, entre autres, à Frédéric, Romain, et Victor Pelletier.
Pelletier, Frédéric, 1870-1944 : Homme multidisciplinaire, Frédéric Pelletier est à la fois maître de chapelle, critique, professeur, compositeur, médecin et fonctionnaire municipale. Sa formation musicale lui vient principalement de son père (piano), de Guillaume Couture (chant) et d'Achille Fortier (harmonie et contrepoint). Malgré son diplôme de médecine, il quitte rapidement cette profession et se concentre sur la musique et le journalisme. Il signe de nombreux articles dans des quotidiens importants tels que La Patrie, La Presse et le Devoir où il occupera, quelques années plus tard, un poste de critique et de chroniqueur musical (1916-44). Rédacteur en chef du mensuel Entre-Nous de 1929 à 1931, il collabore également à divers périodiques dont Musical America, La Lyre, L'Art musical et la Quinzaine musicale et artistique.
Maître de chapelle aux églises Saint-Léon de Wesmount, Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur et Sainte Brigitte, Pelletier fonde la Société chorale Saint-Saëns en 1992 et dirige la formation dans Samson et Dalila. Président de l'Académie de musique du Québec de 1932 à 1935, il enseigne aussi l'histoire de la musique pendant plusieurs années au Conservatoire national de Montréal ainsi qu'à l'École supérieure de musique d'Outremont. Parmi ses oeuvres, mentionnons la Messe de Requiem, le Stabat mater, les oratorios La Rédemption et Le Tryptique d'oraisons ainsi que la pièce Ludus puerilis pour orgue, orchestrée par Rosario Bourdon et présentée lors d'un concert de la Société des concerts symphonique de Montréal en 1943.
Pelletier, Romain,1875-1953 : Romain Pelletier étudie le piano et l'orgue avec Arthur Letondal ainsi que le chant et l'harmonie avec Achille Fortier. Organiste et maître de chapelle à l'église Saint-Léon de Westmount de 1909 à 1951, il enseigne aussi la musique à l'Institut Nazareth. En 1927, il est membre fondateur de la Société des artistes musiciens de Montréal.
Pelletier, Victor, 1881-[19-] : Victor Pelletier devient violoncelliste à l'OSM de Goulet ainsi que secretaire de l'orchestre vers les années 1900. Il fera par la suite carrière dans la comptabilité.
