Collection comprises primarily greeting cards and other ephemera, including 11 Victorian scrap books and albums, plus loose items including 58 greeting cards and 2 tin-ware artifacts.
Two of the albums are presentation ablums assembled by the donor with an historical summary of greeting cards, illustrated by examples of the cards. There are also order-books, catalogues, and private scrap-books. Scrap-books and albums contain works in various formats, including original artworks, letters, envelopes, printed greeting cards, envelopes, postcards, scraps, bookplates, trademarks, stamps, advertisements, letter-head, air-graphs, telegrams, war saving certificate stickers, photographs, stamps.
The history of the greeting card in Canada is reflected by examples of companies active at various periods, and companies represented are those from England, the United States and Canada.

Works are generally in good condition. Works have sometimes been laid down or otherwise secured to album pages, making some partially inacessible for view.

Collection has for the most part been kept in individual album order. One item (album 11) contains First Day cover pockets with loose items, likely used to store and organize them. The items have beenjremoved and numbered individually. .
