Film shows the signs of drought all over India before the rains break and the preparations taken to maintain life during the rainy season. Sequences of note include: camel-drawn ploughs; rain beating down on the parched earth and the aftermath of the rain, as children and buffalo bathe in the swollen rivers; preparation of rice paddies in Bihar Region; festivals celebrating the new season; ceremonial worship and thanksgiving for the first rice harvest; and flood-damaged areas.
