The document is a combination of actuality footage, street interviews and comic satirical sketches. The actuality footage used shows marchers parading through the streets of Glasgow, Liverpool, Swansea, Rugby, Bristol, Oxford and London as they cross through Britain on foot to protest high unemployment. Interviews are held with union leaders, political activists and the unemployed. Shots are taken of: Ken Loach, film director; Sandy Radcliffe, actress; Colin Redgrave, actor; marchers greeted by Rugby's Labour mayoress; Rolls Royce plant workers lining a street in Bristol as they greet the marchers; a high-spirited rally in a London arena.
