Recherche dans la collection - [Map of the Muskoka River and Lake Huron to Cross Lake] [cartographic material]

Map prepared by David Thompson to accompany report on his observations when surveying a line for a canal between Lake Huron and the Ottawa River in 1837. D. Thompson presented report and map to the Governor General on 10 March 1842, who in turn referred it to the Board of Works to report on the information contained.
The route on the map follows the Muskako River (now Musquash and South Muskoka rivers) through Muskako Second, Third and Forked lakes (now Muskoka, Rousseau, Joseph and Lek of Bays).
The maps covers 44.90 to 45.30 degrees latitude and 79.00 to 80.20 degrees longitude.

The map was transferred from GAD, RG11, Series A1 "Unregistered correspondence," Vol. 79, file 100 in August 1990.
