Marcus is a dancer. Don, Marcus' father, is a butcher. They haven't talked in years, and neither knows exactly how they got to this space in their lives. The point is no one is moving one micron towards the other.~Marcus wants to be a great dancer and choreographer. His acceptance to the Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York brings him one step closer to achieving his goal. He saves for the move by working at his father's butcher shop. Only thing is, he's a vegetarian.~At the end of a busy day in the butcher shop, where Marcus is closing up for the last time, robbers break in and demand the day's take. Don refuses to cooperate and give them the money, and in doing so, gets himself shot in the hand, and Marcus shot in the leg. They are locked in the freezer.~Left to bleed and freeze to death, they huddle together to keep warm. Struggling to survive, they are forced, for the first time in their lives to deal with each other. Told in a series of flashbacks, we uncover the source of the breakdown in their relationship. We travel from Marcus' infancy to his adulthood, and learn what makes them tick. Marcus and Don attempt to heal old wounds as well as tend to their new ones, before it's too late. <27 mn>
