Consists of 37 projects comprised of architectural drawings principally for buildings in Ottawa, 1904-1930. The collection contains 15 projects (50 items) which are drawings for unidentified residences. The remainder of the architectural drawings deal with residential designs, apartments, commercial buildings and several public buildings, such as the public building in Morrisburg, Ontario and the Toronto Customs House (The Dominion Building). The drawings are almost exclusively the work of Ben Albert Dore, an American architect (1890-1964) who commenced his career in Ottawa apprenticing with J. Albert Ewart in 1910 and then worked as a draughtsman with the Department of Public Works from 1914 until 1918. It is not entirely clear when Ben Dore formed the partnership, Dore & Coyles since it does not appear that he practiced architecture in Canada after the First World War.
