War propaganda film made in the Union of South Africa to encourage enlistment. The film shows the South Africa Armed Forces preparing for combat on land, sea and in the air as men and women recruits engage in a variety of training exercises and practice military maneuvers. Hometown volunteers and local women's groups join in the war effort. The quality of equipment used by the South African Forces and the excellence of military expertise demontrated is focused upon. General Jan Christian Smuts is seen signing South Africa's declaration of war on Germany and addressing the troops. The film concludes with scenes of the troops embarking for Europe and the "real thing". <22mn>
