Silent footage about the inhabitants of Mackenzie Park, Northwest Territories. It shows: the Mackenzie River; mountains and forested areas; views of Indian settlements; Indians working in and around the park; men and women on horseback; houses; two Indians in a very long canoe; an Indian and a white man with camera and gun; close-up totem poles with carved faces and figures; four Indians working in bush along the road; women working in fields and basket-weaving; local carrier transports goods in a horse-drawn cart; Indian man and women leaving a store with supplies; children diving from plank into river; three children on a raft with woman guiding with a long pole; the river taken from steamer with part of deck shown, the Petroglyph Falls; a sign on the road; and a group sitting on ground having a picnic. <4mn>

Harlan Ingersoll Smith (1872-1940) joined the Geological Survey of Canada as head of the Archaeology Division (now part of the Canadian Museum of Civilization) in 1911.~3.
