Lucien M. Hanks (Photography)Description :Unedited film on Blackfoot Indians in the Blackfoot (Siksika) Reserve in Gleichen, Alberta. This unique footage, taken by Jane R. and Dr. Lucien M. Hanks, depicts living conditions and social customs of the Blackfoot of Canada. Exceptional sequences include: a demonstration of sign language used in inter-tribal communication; the erection of a totem pole; life in a teepee camp village; a group of men playing a guessing game; chiefs wearing full head-dress and costume; children and others in traditional dress; dance and drums used in ceremonial rites including the Sun Dance, Tobacco Rites and the Horn Society ceremony (where long ornamented crooks are used). <75mn>Langue :MuteRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
