Footage shot for a documentary about Lester B. Pearson, entitled MR. PEARSON. It shows: Pearson talking with chauffeur about the size of the Canadian flag on his car; Pearson and entourage getting into car; Pearson and entourage driving to ABC studio where he is to be interviewed; Pearson talking about Canadian wheat sales to Russia and other Communist countries, United Nations security and how an obnoxious man was able to get in, the labour situation and the legal process, people at the cocktail party the night before, returning to Ottawa, taking the weekend off, and Pearson commenting on what John F. Kennedy said about John Diefenbaker. Kennedy asked how Diefenbaker was these days, "with a twinkle in his eye", according to Pearson. Next is footage of a news conference with John F. Kennedy. It shows: Kennedy and a group emerging from a room into the cafeteria; the group stops and poses; Kennedy and Pearson together; wild sound of Kennedy and Pearson chatting; Pearson and Kennedy at table, getting ready to eat; wild sound of Pearson speaking as Kennedy listens; crowd waiting outside; women looking at Kennedy; Pearson and an aide speaking among themselves about how everything is going; and Pearson's comment that "John [Kennedy] was very good to me, but the fact of the matter is he practically made me into a Cuban Communist". Next, Pearson is shown getting into a car with his entourage. He talks about: whether his interview will ever appear on a Canadian network; Diefenbaker; Communism; the United States' willingness to go into British Guyana to quash the Communists; similarities to the Yugoslav situation; Josip Broz Tito's visit to the U.S.; plans for his last night in New York; the South African committee and a Southeast Asian committee on economics; and Victoria Cross winner Milton Gregg, who Pearson praised for his work in cabinet and who became a Southeast Asian envoy. Next is footage in hotel room, with wild sound.
