The drawbridge that allows boats to pass through is visible. The paddlewheel steamer "Pioneer" has just left the dock,in front of two rowboats., George Seton was a British military officer acitve in North America from April 14, 1844 to August 31, 1848. British officers were often trained in watercolour to record topography.
