Along his way he discovers marks of progress and signs of a city becoming the center of the Arab nations under the new leadership of President Gamal Abdul Nasser. The film shows beautiful scenes of mosques set against the sky under a blazing sun; President Nasser appearing in lobbies followed by his men; Arab oil exhibition; performance of a belly dancer; the Suez Canal and the Nile River; and Cairo's exports and industry. Berton talks to Secretary General of the Arab Leage, Colonel Yunus, in charge of Suez Canal operations.
