Interview of commercial artist Chuck Matthews. They discuss the commercial art and design industry in Toronto and artists Matthews has known. Matthews relates his recollections of artists J.E.E. MacDonald, Frank Carmichael, Lawren Harris, A.Y. Jackson, F.H. Varley, and A.J. Casson, with emphasis on the design work of MacDonald and Carmichael. They also discuss artist Tom Thomson and the circumstances of his death.
