Subject depicts a figure study of a group of male and female natives. The men are standing and the women are sitting with children. The men are all holding tools and appear to be wearing top hats., Although he was known as an amateur painter, it is unclear whether or not this is a image by Edward, Duke of Kent., Edward Duke of Kent was the Commander of the garrison of Halifax between May 1796 and September 1799.
