Film shows the difference between producing good cream and poor cream. A butter inspector notices a bad flavour and decides to visit the creamery. There, the inspector watches as two farmers deliver their cream: Mr. "Sweet Cream" is a careful farmer and delivers "first grade" cream; Mr. "Lumpy Sour" brings poor "second grade" cream. The inspector decides to go to Mr. "Lumpy Sour's" farm to show him how to produce better cream. The farmer works in dirty conditions and performs his tasks carelessly; the inspector suggests that they visit Mr. "Sweet Cream's" farm to see how he produces "first grade" cream. Mr. "Sweet Cream's" methods are clean and careful; he uses a refrigeration system to ensure the high quality of his cream. The film's final intertitle reads: "Mr. Producer -- Who are you?
