Letter from Capt. George Macdonell, describing the gallant conduct of Sergent Edward Landers of the 2nd Regiment of Glengarry militia, in the action at the Windmill on the 13th November 1837, "who broke away singly from the ligne and was observed to throw off his bayonet and with the butt end of his musket throwing himself upon the enemy, was observed to knock down numbers of them ina manner which is almost incredible; he was at last surrounded by the enemy and received stabs and blows from bayonets, bowie knives, and butts of rifles, and mangled and left for dead." Memorial from Lt. Col. Plomer Young, relating his services and describing the actions at the Windmill.

Petition from fifty-seven members of Parliament praying the appointment as Assistant General for Upper Canada of Colonel Duncan Macdonell of Greenfield, "for many years memberfor the County of Glengarry in the House of Assembly in Upper Canada," and "brother of the late John Macdonell, who fell at Queeston Heights with the gallant and much lamented General Sir Isaac Brock."
