A look at occupational tedium in the Canadian industrial work force. Focus on the auotomobile, meat-packing, and insurance industries shows different ways and attitudes of combatting the problem. Motivation, humanization of the work place, job enrichment, and participative management are concepts discussed in this document. Scenes of an automobile assembly line in action (Ford Motor Company), of the Coleman Packing Company (a meat-packing plant), and of a London Life Insurance office, are shown. Interviews are held with: Dennis McDermott, a U.A.W. union official; David [Keely], a professor at the University of Western Ontario; George [Perry], a London Life personnel admnistrator; and Hamilton Walsh, plant manager at Coleman Packing Company. <60mn>
