He was born in 1913 in Silverdale, near Mission, B.C., moving to Kamloops in 1945, becoming a preacher and then getting into politics in 1952 when he was elected to represent Kamloops in the B.C. legislature. He served in the legislature for 20 years, including Minister of Highways until 1968, when he was forced to resign over a scandal involving his use of a government jet. He later became Minister of Social Assistance and in 1988 he was elected the Mayor of Kamloops.~This biography includes interview clips of Gaglardi recorded in the early 1980s, and interview clips of other people such as W.A.C.
