This film shows some of the scenery and points of interest along the highways of Wales. An intertitle explains that the mountain group in North Wales is know to Welshman as "Eryri" meaning "the abode of the eagle". A view of mountains is seen in the distance through the branches of trees. A series of intertitles tell some of the history of the region and shots show the scenery and places of interest including: Barmouth Estuary with Calder Idris in the distance; Barmouth town and the beach at sunset; Harlech Castle, built by Edward I, with mountains in the background. The viewer is shown scenes of driving down the mountainside and stopping in a picturesque village on the way to Snowdon. Seen is Lake Gwynant, set in the middle of "Snowdonia", the most impressive mountain group in the British Isles. Then on to North Wales and its network of modern highways built on the foundations of the old Roman roads. Other scenes show: Conway Castle, built by Edward I in 1284; slate fences, common in the quarrying district; and, beyond the mountains, the pleasant rolling farmlands of Denbigshire. Footage includes a good rear shot of the car with the "Ontario Government Motion Picture Bureau - Toronto - Canada" chest strapped to the rear bumper. <11mn 49s>
