Topics touched on include: lifestyle and survival skills of the Shoshone people; settlement on Shoshone territory, including emerging conflicts between the cultures as well as peace-time relations; antagonism and hostility fostered by the United States army; and land disputes between the American government and the Shoshone nation, including reference to a recent court battle taken up by Mary and Carrie Dann. Scenes consist largely of archival photographs but also film footage of 19th and early 20th century Shoshone leadership and tribal life, as well as views of white settlement. Also, a shot of a traditional Shoshone cave mural.
