"Nick King, ship owners' agent, receives a mysterious, blood-stained package through the mail, with a terse note asking him to deliver it to a third officer Svenson, who turns out to be an attractive female officer on a Norwegian ship. The parcel contains a model ship in a bottle, sent by her uncle, who collects model ships. King's suspicions about the innocent-looking model are confirmed when Aline Svenson is offered a large sum of money for the bottle and then finds her uncle murdered. She becomes involved in a deadly game of intrigue and suspicion. If she doesn't clear her name, she may lose her officer's papers. Eventually she finds the secret of the bottle, and takes matters into her own hands, arranging with her uncle's murderers to trade her knowledge for $5,000. Then the murderers turn the tables on her."
