He talks about: being one of the first dispatch riders to cross over to France; training at Le [Coteau]; delivering messages to various posts; the role of the dispatch rider; the Battle of Mons; being trampled by horses and being hospitalized; working with General Sir Herbert Gough along the Aisne river; wireless wagon being blown up; the Battle of the Aisne; orders to cross at [Vailly]; work at Ypres; Sir Edmond Gough; Allenby; conference of generals; being sent to Antwerp to bring a message to Winston Churchill; also sent to Belgian headquarters; Battle of Loos; defeat; joining the Royal Engineers; and Gough's second failure with the 5th Army and reinstatement as a general in 1930.~The visuals show Johnstone talking with a photograph in the background of a building and a Red Cross ambulance.
