Two-part oral history interview with sisters Pearl and Doris Clark, syndicated columnists and veteran members of the Canadian Women's Press Club (CWPC) in Hamilton, Ontario, conducted by Canadian writer Kay Rex during the research phase of her publication "No Daughter of Mine : The Women and History of the Canadian Women's Press Club 1904-1971". In the first part of the interview, Pearl Clark who had joined in Montreal in the early 1930s, recalls her breaking ground years when she would travel across the country in an effort to promote her other sister Mary Moore's column and syndicate the work of other freelance writers, most of whom were members of the Montreal CWPC branch; her work as advertising manager for a cosmetic firm and as general manager of the Clark sisters' canning company, Mary Miles Fine Foods; the sisters' involvement, shortly after the war, with the rebirth of the Hamilton CWPC branch; and the Kit Coleman Memorial Award established by the Hamilton branch for women journalism students at McMaster University, Ryerson Institute of Technology, and the UWO. In the second part, Doris, the youngest of the Clark sisters, recalls the success of her advice column, "Successful Living", which appeared in papers across Canada for over 15 years, as well as CWPC regional and triennial conventions.
