Three maps depicting views of the world from an environmental perspective. A) The World: A Developing World, 1990: one of a series of five maps on the developing world produced with financial assistance from the Canadian International Development Agency. It contains textual information on the developing parts of the world and on environmental hazards as well as a legend under the following headings: world population growth 1980 to 2000; age structure of the population 1990; infant mortality rate 1990 to 1995; access to safe drinking water 1987; literacy; the sectors of economic activity. 90 x 120 cm

B) A Developing World, 1990: two-sided bilingual map with information on the developing parts of the world as well as a legend under the following headings: access to safe water; literacy; population 1987; urbanization; immunization. 90 x 120 cm

C) New Internationalist World Map on the Peters Projection, 1983: Scale: 1: 1,230,000,000. "This projection shows countries in proportion to their relatives sizes. It is based upon Arno Peters decimal grid which divides the surface of the earth into 100 longitudinal fields of equal width and 100 latitudinal fields of equal height. It treats the rectangles around the equator as squares and buids the other rectangles onto these in proportion to the areas they represent. The zero meridian on this system is combined with a proposed new international date line. This new decimal grid is only indicated, however, on the outer border of the map. The grid maked on the map itself is based ont he tradionnal 18j0 degree division and the present dateline is indicated with a dotted line". 52x81 cm. Coloured. Two copies. One has cartographic and textual information on the recto.
