Canadian playwright Rita Greer discusses her personal impressions of the current state of the arts in Quebec. Greer talks about the historic background of carving and design in Quebec churches. This has generated respect from all levels of society for art and artists. The Prisme d'Yeux, a progressive movement in Quebec art, is discussed by member and painter Mimi Parent, who says that while the movement acknowledges the influence of old Quebec art, the members are pursuing new, original approaches to their artistic work. Montreal gallery owner Dr. Max Stern discusses the new importance of Montreal as a centre from which talented artists and works of high quality have been produced. He asserts that the mainstream of Canadian artists are coming from Quebec and that "our artists can now stand beside the international artist". <14mn>
