The footage shows: aerial shots of Yellowknife; aerial view of Fort Resolution; Slave River country; more footage shot at Yellowknife, including low angle shot of airplain motor as Canadian Pacific Airlines plane arrives from Edmonton; passengers disembarking; people with plane in background; longshot and pan of part of the town of Yellowknife; snow-covered trees; looking down hill on one of the main streets of Yellowknife; signs on cafes in the town, including Wild Cat, Roving Hornet and Busy Bee; barber shop; man cutting wood; cabin on hill; icicles on building; plane arriving at air base on lake; freight piled in foreground; putting package freight aboard plane; N.W.T. licence plate on car; a new building to house transients, with sign which reads "Yellowknife Rooms"; bank in building styled like log cabin; buses on street; town of Yellowknife shown from the west; cars and trucks on street; Yellowknife's business section; view from across narrows; signs on a restaurant; restaurant interior; people eating at a counter; close-ups of butter and sugar bowls on table, a contrast to rationing in other parts of Canada; man eating and adding sugar to coffee; price signs over counter for steaks, omelettes, hamburgers, oysters and other items; a hockey rink; close-up of child in a parka; buildings; man with sleigh full of water cans, a necessity because Yellowknife has no water system; taxi; and close-up of a Yellowkbnife bakery.
