Film of Canadian troops on the Western Front, in Germany. The Canadain First Army, spearhead of the Allied drive through the German westwall defenses, maintains its offensive. Smoke generators cover the advance of troops into Germany. Men and supplies move ahead against lessening Nazi opposition. Supplies traverse flooded regions. German refugees clog roads. In Calcar the Canadians are in full command and spearheads speed on to make junction with American Ninth Army forces moving up from the south. General Crerar, Canadian First Army Commander, inspects front line positions and is joined by Field Marshal Sir Bernard L. Montgomery. With General Simmonds and other officers they visit Cleve and other captured German towns. Then Montgomery awards military honors to heroes of the big push.
