Anti-German feelings. News item on the aftermath of an Anti-German riot in Victoria in which mobs, fired up by news of the sinking of the Lusitania, wrecked stores and the German-Canadian Club in the Kaiserhof Hotel. The soldiers shown cleaning up are members of the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles who were called out to restore order the day following the riots. One of the men called out to guard the local brewery was Private G.R. Pearkes, later Major-General P.G.R. Pearkes, VC, MC, DSO etc. - August 1914. Yukon regiment in training. Excellent shots of the Yukon Regiment training at a camp outside Victoria, doing physical training in civilian clothes, lining up to eat, lining up for inspection, etc. - August 1914. Men start out on a 25 mile route march. Final shots of a vigorous bayonet drill. -October 1914. Unloading horses for war.
