A docudrama on rescue operations including the following footage:~Opening shot is a flag at RCAF Winnipeg, 1963-1964, under CO Gray. Documented are rescue operations, both real and simulated, an Otter is featured with large rescue insignia on body, equipped with wheel skiis.~A single engine Otter is shown being serviced. Various shots of take-off and landing practice: inside cockpit in flight, aerial of Winnipeg control tower, and cockpit view of landing.~Simulated rescue call in operation: shot of a meeting and a Beach C45 (nicknamed a "Bug smasher") RCAF plane, aerial of rescue plane leaving on mission (Otter), and a Cree Village in Northern Manitoba.~An Albatross (amphibian) civilian aircraft, and a real rescue operation of man with broken ski.~Annual unit inspection, featuring Colours parade. Review ceremony for the 17th Wing, CO Gray at podium. Presentation of awards followed by marching band.~Voodoo Survey of potential emergency rural landing strips. Various shots of base activity: servicing Beach C45. Cockpit shots and air to air shots of Beach. Sequence showing visiting Brass.~Air to air dusk shot of Otter on rescue mission, saving Santa on way to Cree reserve as part of annual Christian missions. Sequence showing RCAF rescue of Santa Claus (stranded alone on ice-bound lake), who is safely delivered with his presents to Cree Christian mission post. The RCAF squadron made an annual delivery to this outpost, and the Santa sequence was filmed for presentation at the annual RCAF base Christmas party.
