Accession consists of lobby cards used by movie theatres to advertise feature films. The lobby cards include movies from countries such as the United States, Canada, Great Britain, U.S.S.R., Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia. The accession consists of photomechanical and photographic reproductions of lobby cards.
The accession also consists of several cartoons based on American movies, photographs of different Canadian movie scenes, as well as a number of animated cels.
This collection was an internal transfer from the old MISA division to the former DAP, which are now amalgamated. This collection has never been described or organized before..
This collection was transferred together with the Visual and Sound Archives film poster collection, acc. no. 1995-111, and the Canadian Film Institute film poster collection, acc. no. 1997-360; these items received separate accession numbers but retain the same ban number.
