This reel consists of excerpts of Castle Films and Official Films footage, as follows: 1947 newsreel story from the Castle Films series THE NEWS PARADE, showing the American Legion parade in New York City in 1947 on the occasion of the 29th annual Legion convention and a speech to the delegates by Dwight D. Eisenhower about support for the U.S. military; highlights of the 1948 World Series in the Castle Films series THE SPORT PARADE, showing the home field of the Boston Braves and highlights of every World Series game between Boston and Cleveland; a Soundies presentation by Official Films, dated 1946, of the Mills Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Fredrick Feher, in A Musical Joke by Johann Strauss; and an item in the Castle Films series THE MUSIC ALBUM, Great Symphonies, with conductor Fredrick Feher, the Mills Philharmonic Orchestra and singers Amanda Chirot and Christine McIntyre in a performance of Blue Danube, followed by Tandy MacKenzie and Alice Avakian singing Romance.
