It shows the funeral procession in front of the War Memorial in Ottawa and the arrival of the coffin at the Peace Tower. Mounties carry the coffin into the Peace Tower and hundreds of people come to pay their respects to Georges Vanier. The second part of the reel is an interview with an unidentified officer who talks about his friendship with the Governor General. He describes Vanier as being very popular with the soldiers. He had a good sense of humour and tried to be "one of the boys".
