Newsreel footage of Canadian troops in Normandy taking a few minuts off their job of chasing the Nazis back to Germany by subscribing to the Victory Loan. The scenes show: long shot of men working at an outdoor Motor Transport workshop when an officer drives up, gets out of his car and is greeted by a sergeant who stops work and gives him a salute; medium shot of the same officer and men at the workshop, with the officer talking to the men and telling them about the 7th Victory Loan Drive; close-up of the sergeant and mechanic buying bonds; scene in a Light Aid Detachment (LAD) office situated in a cave in a vary large quarry on the road to Falaise; an LAD staff sergennt walks up to the mouth of the cave and sits down at a table, calling the attention of the men around him to the 7th Victory Loan Drive and that he thinks they should buy a bond; close-ups of one of the men buying a bond; medium shots and close-ups of Captain William David Grayson, MC, who won his Military Cross for gallant action on the beaches of D-Day, as he signs his bond form; Major W. Shier of Vancouver, B.C., hospital registrar, sells the bond to Grayson; Major Shier selling a bond to Sergeant Jack Arnold Stollery, M.M. Sergeant Stollery of St.Thomas, Ontario, won his Military Medal for outstanding bravery while carrying out his filming duties during the Battle of Ortona last December in Italy; and various shots of burned out Canadian vehicles which illustrate the necessity for the purchase of war bonds so that replacements can be made.

1. Subject description based on NFB dope sheet, which also states: "Please Credit Canadian Film Unit" by which it must mean Canadian Army Film Unit.~2. The NFB dope sheet also states: "This newsreel covering Canada's war activities is presented to you gratis, fully approved and censored", an apparent instruction to the newsreel companies, such as Fox, to which this footage was supplied.
