Recording of an interview of Lyn Grant, longtime worker for the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers union (UE) and chief steward for the Health and Safety Committee in a union plant. She talks about the health hazards to plant workers including high noise levels. She also discusses problems workers experience such as racism and layoffs because of the North America Free Trade Agreement. Other topics touched on include UE training for union stewards and the help she has received from UE union leaders. The interview is followed by closeups of photographs from the UE archives depicting UE union members and plants, the 12th annual district council meeting in 1948, the UE Local 523 union hall in Welland, the first conference of UE female workers, and various newspaper clippings featuring the UE. <15mn>
