Saunders introduces the General and offers him the freedom of the city.~General Crerar opens his speech by saying that in the early days of last July in Holland, he had received a telegram from Mayor Saunders inviting him to be an official guest of the city of Toronto and he now expresses deep thanks for the warm welcome that he has received.~General Crerar concludes by saying "the lessons we have learned will not prove in vain.
