Speech entitled "Russia and the Peace" by Sir Bernard Pares, leading English authority on Russia, to the Canadian Club. Pares, lecturing at Toronto University at the time on Russian history, is introduced by Henry Borden. Pares talks about:~Stalin, his character, and his means to power.~The Russo-Polish feud.~Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and racial groups with a German aristocracy. He believes the Russian part of Poland and the gates of Leningrad will be the extent of Stalin's territorial claims.~He also talks about Russia and its neighbours.~He expresses the opinion that all nations are not equal It is a question of equal voting power among nations. He states that the keeping of peace should be the responsibility of those who can see that it is kept.~Borden then thanks Pares.
