This consists of the following reports from overseas by war correspondents.~Peter Stursberg of the CBC reports from the Italian front about the slow advance of the Allies along the Adriadic near Rimini. The Canadian troops to whom he has spoken call the fighting in the region their most difficult to date. Canadian forces are spearheading the 8th Army drive on Rimini. Stursberg talks about the German paratroopers fighting against the Allies in the area, efforts to dislodge the Germans from San Fortunato, and the heavy artillery barrages by the Germans.~Report recorded September 19, 1944 by Don Fairbairn of the RCAF in Brussels. He reports on the landing of Allied airborne troops on Sunday, September 17, 1944 in the area of Veghel, 15 miles north of Eindhoven in Holland and their linking up with the Second British Army advancing from their bridgehead over the Escaut Canal. Fairbairn also talks about other Allied action in Nijmegen and Arnhem.~Report in French by Benoit Lafleur of Société Radio-Canada, about fighting by Canadian troops in the Rimini sector and the Po Valley.

1. For reference tape see 1982-0043/0297.~2. The sound of a music program is avalible at intervals during the Stursberg report, possibly due to atmospheric disturbance during the shortwave transmission.~3. Rimini was captured by Canadian and Greek troops on September 21, 1944.~4. CBC disc inventory gives donor original number as 440919-0 and 440919-1 but 440919-1 is the correct number.
