A clip of Prime Minister Trudeau giving comment on Canada's underprivileged society is shown.~A report on a student revolt in Mexico City including riot scenes. Comments by: Mario Menendez, publisher, [Por Que?]; Alfonso De Rosenzweig Diaz Junior, a government spokesman; and Peter Churchill, a Canadian freelance journalist who covered the incident.~A film sequences on A.J. Casson's painting exhibition in Toronto where an anxious crowd rushes in buying all of his work within fifteen minutes. Includes comments from the buyers, shots of Casson signing autographs, and some of his paintings.~A report by naturalist John Livingston on strip mining in Kentucky and its devastating effects on the environment. Sequence on strip mining operations in the Appalachian mountains is shown including shots of gigantic earthmovers shearing away entire mountains for coal. Comments by: Harry Caudill, author of "Night Comes to the Cumberlands", a book that drew national attention to the plight of the Appalachians; Elmore Grim, director of the Reclamation Department of Natural Resources, Kentucky; and Ben Greer, mining company operator. Livingston also examines strip mining in the Canadian Rockies and its implications, and the need for strong legislation on land reclamation. Includes other comments by: Gerald Balsley of the Kaiser Coal Company; Howard Paitsch, executive director of the British Columbia Wildlife Federation; and Louis Nunn, Governor of Kentucky.~A report on British soul singer Julie Driscoll with footage of her working in the studio. <60mn>
