This Hockey Night in Canada telecast features partial coverage of a game between the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs from Maple Leaf Gardens. Toronto won the game by a score of 4 to 2; however only Tim Horton's goal is shown here (during the intermission highlights). Intermission features include an interview with Emile Francis; a feature on a hockey school for referee's in Haliburton Ontario; and a man on the street interview about Frank Mahovlich's reported nervous breakdown. Also shown, are highlights of a game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Chicago Blackhawks, which the Kings won. Brian Kilrea (Coach of the Ottawa 67's) and Brian Smith (sportscaster for CJOH TV in Ottawa) are both shown scoring goals. For Smith, it was his first goal in the National Hockey League. The three stars of the game were: 1, Tim Horton (Toronto); 2, Murray Oliver (Toronto); 3, Bob Nevin (New York). <38mn>
