Television public affairs program with host Charlotte Gobeil featuring reports and interviews.~Gobeil conducts street interviews in Montreal, asking whether the results of the federal election is an indication of the anti-French feeling across the country. All interviewees reject the anti-French feeling but admit to the anti-Trudeau feeling.~A film portrait of the Honourable John G. Diefenbaker campaigning in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan for re-election in the October 30th federal election. Includes scenes of Diefenbaker meeting the town's people, givings a speech at luncheon, signing autographs, walking on the streets of Prince Albert, watching the election on television with his wife and friends, relaxing after the elections and shooting ducks with fellow hunters.~A skit about American planner demonstrating on a map how he plans to divert the Peace River, Athabasca River, Laird River, Churchill River, Saskatchewan River and the entire James Bay system to feed the water needs of the United States. "This" he says, "would solve all American water problems for at least thirty years". Also, in case of pollution, he plans to flush the Great Lakes into the Atlantic Ocean.~A report on a survey in the Hudson and James Bay watershed regarding the diversion of Canadian waters into the United States. Local conservationists and white and Indian residents of Albany River are interviewed by Bob Rogers. They complain that they will be presented with a fait accompli by the government and will never get a chance to present their case. They also feel that large-scale water diversion will destroy the present way of life for all Northern Ontarians and that the sale of any Canadian water resources to Americans will signal the end of any Canadian independence from the United States. Shot of rivers soon to be flooded and the communities that will, subsequently be moved to higher lands.~Ralph Fasanella, an American primitive painter, is interviewed in New York City by Patrick Watson. Fasanella was formerly a garage worker, who worked hard all his life, but gave it up to devote himself to painting the New York he loves and hates. Shots of his paintings to be exhibited in New York are shown. He hopes the money from the sale of his paintings will buy him enough time to paint all he wants. <60mn>
