Footage shot in area on approach to Ortona, near Casa Berardi during Exercise Cider, about the evacuation of casualties from administering First Aid on the field to the hospital ship leaving Britain for Canada. Shots include: wounded Canadian soldier being evacuated (possibly staged for the benefit of the camera); patient being placed in a slit trench until a jeep arrives to take him to the Regimental Aid Post and transport him to a Main Dressing Station a little further behind the line; Canadian stretcher bearers taking soldier in a modified Jeep ambulance to Advanced Dressing Station (Unit #75); medical care at ADS, where Captain I. L. Lazreek inspects the patient, Private J.F. Hosegrove washes the patient's face; close-up of Corporal W.W. Hamill cleaning up the wound on the leg of the casualty; treatment at field surgical unit where Major H.R. Robertson looks at wound and works on an arm wound; Captain R.C.
