Fred Weber's contribution to television broadcasting is highlighted with voice-over commentary and archival photos. Weber began his career in broadcasting in 1940, as an engineer/announcer at CKOV, Kelowna, British Columbia. He installed the first low-power television station in the continent at CFCR in Kamloops, B.C., founded Cariboo Broadcasters Ltd., CKCQ, and became managing director and then president. In 1960, Weber founded Skeena Broadcasters Ltd. and in 1962 he set up CFTK-TV Terrace, covering a large area in northwestern British Columbia and involving the relay of signals from translators installed on mountains accessible only by helicopters. In 1971, he began cablevision services to northern B.C. and by 1988 Weber's efforts helped to ensure that greatly expanded facilities were available in Pacific Northwestern B.C. <5mn>Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
