This CHBC special program follows Okanagan Valley veterans of World War II on a return visit to Holland, which they helped liberate from German occupation in 1945. Archival footage includes World War II battles, concentration camps, post-war occupied Holland and a newly liberated Holland. Interviews of Canadians involved in the liberation of Holland include Zenon Michalski from the Polish Armoured Division, Arthur Bath of the B.C. Dragoons and Ray Smith of the 9th Field Engineers. Elly Walraven, a citizen of Holland, describes being physically forced by Nazi officers to watch an SS parade. Of special note is a forbidden photo of the crash of a Halifax bomber airplane, taken by a 16-year-old boy in occupied Holland. <30mn>
