The fonds contains records pertaining to the Foundation's activities. It includes the organization's letters patent; correspondence; agreements; and minutes; material related to the following organizations or topics: members of the Glenn Gould Prize pre-selection committee, the 1987 symposium in Montreal, the event at the University of Calgary in 1988-89, the Glenn Gould Memorial Foundation, the Glenn Gould Room, the CBC's Glenn Gould Studio, various Glenn Gould exhibitions, the Ontario Centre project and Glenn Gould's pianos; press clippings; a photograph of Glenn Gould; and videocassettes produced by Peter Mak for a special broadcast on the 1992 Glenn Gould Conference in Toronto.

Glenn Gould Foundation : Established in 1983, the Glenn Gould Foundation organizes and finances a range of projects related to Glenn Gould and his achievements. Among other things, it prepares exhibitions, conferences and publications. In 1987, R. Murray Schafer received the Foundation's first Glenn Gould Prize, which is awarded every three years to artists with an international reputation in the fields of music and communications. John Roberts was the first president of the Foundation, followed by John B. Lawson and Stanley H. Witkin.
