The fonds consists of records pertaining to the activities of the national office in Montréal and the regions of Ottawa-Hull, British Columbia, Edmonton, Québec City, the Eastern Townships, southern Ontario, Montréal, and the Rousseau Lake music centre. The numerous administrative documents illustrate the organization's operations and its evolution since the 1950s. Also, the photographs demonstrate the symbiosis of music teaching and the beauty of nature. The fonds consists of: general correspondence; minutes of board of directors and annual meetings; annual reports; financial statements; personnel files; course programs; files concerning funding agencies and scholarships; lists of music centre members and participants; promotional material; newspaper The Amateur Musician and subscriptions; files pertaining to the Otter Lake and Laurentian Bach festivals; photographs illustrating various activities of the society; recordings of works by Canadian composers.

CAMMAC : Non-profit society founded in Montréal in 1953 by brothers George and Carl Little and their wives Madeleine and Frances. The objective of CAMMAC (Canadian Amateur Musicians/Musiciens amateurs du Canada) is to stimulate the work of amateur musicians employed in various spheres of musical activity (courses, concerts, etc.). First established as a summer camp, the society based itself at Otter Lake in Huberdeau, northwest of Montréal. A few years later, CAMMAC extended its activities to the winter season, and adopted regional committees, the most active being those in Montréal (national office), Toronto and Ottawa-Hull.
